A lot of Union members love throwing stats in my face. I got 30 years in the business kid! I’m a member of all these clubs kid! I go to all these rallies kid! I’m 3rd generation! Then they question my solidarity. I just reply April 1st makes 4 years on strike. Being on strike is like getting fired but still showing up to work to not get paid. There are 2 types of education: taking a class and actually experiencing it. I got a Master’s degree in Labor from actually meeting with politicians, the press, and labor leaders. I remember when we cursed out the Governor in the Jacob Javits center before it was cool. I knew these new politicians before they got elected. I was Count Me In when it was called lunchtime rally at Gilbane’s! We marched we rallied we did all the things YOU CLAME YOU WOULD DO if you went on strike! Half of you guys wouldn’t even cancel spectrum and switch to Verizon. I seen people literally go from good health to death, loss their home, quit, divorce, retire and some crossed. This is when you need to ask who are you listening to. The point of this message is simple 4 year anniversary of the longest strike in NYC should get a little more than an orange ribbon.
